Graham Potter, after a brilliant start as Chelsea boss, has started to find the going in West London tough. Chelsea have managed just 2 points in their last three games with draws against Brentford and Manchester United and then coming back down to earth with a heavy thump, being trounced 4-1 by Brighton at the Amex Stadium, a result which both Chippy and myself.

Aston Villa, fresh from their separation with Steven Gerrard, and a thumping 4-0 win over Brentford a week before, travelled to the North East and were found wanting as Newcastle cracked 4 past the hapless Villians. I was the only one to pick this result with Chippy going for a Villians win.

Arsenal continued their great start to the season with a 5-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest at the Emirates, to return to the top of the table after Manchester City had squeaked past Leicester 1-0. Chippy almost picked the Arsenal result and would have nailed the 6-0 scoreline had Gabriel Jesus not missed a few sitters in front of goal.

Elsewhere, Spurs had to come from behind to beat Bournemouth 3-2 while there were wins for Crystal Palace over Southampton (1-0) and Man United, who beat West Ham 1-0.

The other big surprise came at Anfield where Liverpool’s indifferent season continued, going down 2-1 to Leeds United.

Woody, in all his wisdom, has become lazy in his predictions and called for every game to end 1-1. The only result he managed to nail was the 1-1 draw between Brentford and Wolves.

I managed to close the gap a bit on the other two by claiming 11 points while Chippy moved level with Woody after collecting 10 points to move to 102 while Woody’s measly 7 points dropped him to second based on Chippy having the better GW.

Woody is again being lazy, picking all the home teams to win 2-1 except for his beloved oil-rich team, whom he believes will beat Southampton 2-0 at St Mary’s.

Chippy and I are pretty much in agreement – albeit different scorelines – but we do differ slightly in that I am going for Leeds and Bournemouth to play out an exciting 2-2 draw while Chippy thinks that Leeds will win 2-0.

I am also going for a Brighton victory over Wolves at Molineux while Chippy thinks it will be a reverse. My biggest worry is that Arsenal could come unstuck against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Chelsea will run out 3-2 winners while Chippy is going for a Gunners win, and 3-1 at that. If my prediction comes true, the City will top the log on Sunday night!

And I hate to say it, but “GO LIVERPOOL!”. I hate Spurs more!

And here is a surprise statement: “I hate FPL!” 39 Measly points – has left me stone last as usual. The only players not to have dropped points after 14 GW’s is Plumstead FC, Crouch Potatoes and Woody.

They say when you are bottom that the only way is up, but I am so rooted to the dungeon that not even Chuck Norris could break me out.

This weekend could turn out to be an absolute disaster with Arsenal losing to Chelsea, Newcastle and United winning, the Irish beating the Springboks and Spurs beating Jurgen Klopp’s boys.
